It’s a softer Jason Plumb that meets my ears when I put in this CD for the first time. The former The Waltons vocalist delivered a smash-hit CD (well for me anyway) with his band and his first solo-album was a very nice moment in classic Midwest rock.
On his new album he’s taken a step to a more classic 70’s sounding soundscape combined with a Midwest alt-country undertone. It’s very well done and the string-arrangements are lovely. And if you are a The Eagles fan you gotta check out “I Do” and “Seems To Me”. So it is a “new” Jason Plumb we see on this album. Gone is the straight ahead Midwest rock and instead we have a guy who have one foot in the California sound a’la The Eagles and one foot in the Midwestern part of USA. And even one little part of the foot in the pop-world of Crowded House sort of pop… (Hmmm… weird as he is from Canada… but that is another story.)
